President and CEO

Mr. Cos Modafferi, with over 30 years of aerospace and telecom experience, was appointed President and CEO of PolarSat on February 12, 2003. He leads a highly skilled and passionate team who is committed to securing PolarSat's success in the eyes of its customers, employees, and shareholders.

Prior to PolarSat, Cos was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of NSI Communications Systems (NSI Global's Broadband Business Unit).

Prior to NSI, Cos developed formidable leadership and management skills during his time with Ericsson that culminated with a lateral move from the R&D world, where he led a sales team, based in Montreal, and established sales tactics that enabled record achievements in surpassing revenue and profit targets for the Canadian wireless market. Cos had previously held senior management positions in developing and leading Ericsson R&D centers in Montreal, Dallas, Dublin, Sweden and Mexico. During that time, the research center in Montreal grew from 180 to more than 1,000 people as the largest R&D center outside of Sweden.

Before his time with Ericsson, Cos began his professional career with CAE Electronics Ltd. , in Montreal, a world leading supplier of flight simulators and related training systems.

Cos holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, specializing in Digital Systems, from Concordia University of Montreal
